Jeanine Gasser and Keren Blackmore on a green background

Do you know what you want from your career? Do you know what’s stopping you from getting there? What drives you? And what’s holding you back?

If we’re honest with ourselves, the answer is probably along the lines of ‘well, not exactly’. It can be all too easy to fall into the trap of living life on autopilot. Or perhaps you suffer from the ‘sunk cost fallacy’, feeling you’ve invested so much time and effort into your current career path that it’s too late to step off.

But if you’re curious about the future, if you have a yearning for more, then we have the course for you. AllBright is proud to be presenting the next round of our wildly successful coaching course, . And ahead of our next intake, we’re speaking with two of our coaches, Keren Blackmore and Jeanine Gasser, about what participants can expect.

Tell me a little about your own career journey and how you came to be a coach?

Keren: My career to date has been rich and varied, with lots of highs, some lows, and everything in between. In my experience the bigger the mistake, perceived ‘failure’ or challenge, the richer the learning, growth and transformation. In fact, it’s what led me to discover my dream career, coaching.

I’m a big picture career coach, and founder of Leap of Thought, a coaching practice on a mission to support ambitious women like you, to upgrade how they show up in their careers and personal life, starting with the relationship that they have with themselves. What does our career have to do with the relationship with ourselves? This is the question I asked myself when I first stumbled upon coaching, years ago, at a time when I was having a deeply uncomfortable crisis in confidence, spurred on by a perceived ‘failure’ in my up until then, thriving, 20 year career in media. I felt lost, unfulfilled, disconnected, stuck and unsure of what I wanted, let alone the ability to articulate it. All I knew was that I didn’t want to continue going through the motions in a career that I had once enjoyed, performed at a high level in, but deep down never came close to loving.

It turned out that my relationship with myself was due for an upgrade. It was impacting everything, particularly my career. Upgrade? Just like the software for our tech, our brains need regular upgrades and updates. Most of us go through life operating on outdated thoughts and beliefs about who we are, what we are capable of and how things just are. It can leave us feeling and behaving in a way that is limited, restricted and small; both in our careers and personal lives. Coaching helps to make you more self aware, and able to spot what thoughts, beliefs and behaviours are holding you back and how to upgrade these to ones that serve you and your ambitions better. Being conscious of the upgrades we are able to make is hugely empowering and the tangible impact it can have is game changing.

This is what motivated me to gain an accredited coaching diploma, and build up my practice, alongside my full time dream media role at a wonderful organisation, until I was ready to work in my coaching practice full time.

Prior to embarking on my coaching career, I worked in the media industry, in agencies and for the most part in senior sales roles at large organizations including O2, amazon, Virgin and Hearst, managing teams and as an individual contributor, responsible for delivering multi-million dollar targets. Over the years, I have built great relationships, learned to lead high performing teams and delivered impressive financial results. From early on I had to learn to push myself to do things that felt scary regularly enough for them to become the norm, like presenting to large audiences, speaking at an industry event and going for promotions and increasingly challenging roles. Breaking through the comfort zone is always worth it!

Coaching allows me to use my experience, skills and values to support incredible women to unleash their brilliance in ways that are meaningful to them. I look forward to supporting you in your career acceleration journey to unleash your brilliance.

Jeanine: I’m Swiss / Mexican. After living a some-what nomadic life via several cities in Europe and the US, I've been London-based for over 6 years.

Many moons ago, I studied healing culinary arts in Austin, Texas. I specialised in Ayurveda, Macrobiotics, Raw, Vegan & Vegetarian cuisines. I’ve worked as a chef in various retreats, events and restaurants. I’ve also worked in food photography and developing cookbooks.

It also led me to work with inspiring women in the food industry such as Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella), Hemsley + Hemsley, Jasmine Hemsley (I collaborated with her East by West cookbook) and many more.

I then shifted gears into working at a coaching startup. I helped build it from the ground up: I did everything from copywriting, managing online communities, creating sales pages, setting up podcasts, creating sales funnels, the whole thing.

While doing all of this, I trained in a wide variety of techniques such as sound healing, meditation, and EFT.

I also became a qualified and accredited Transformational Coach. I started coaching as a side hustle until I took the leap and went full time into my own coaching business… and here we are!

I’m now a life & business coach, heart-centred entrepreneur, and writer. I’m dedicated to helping women connect deeply with themselves to live as the fullest expression of who they are, align with their truth, ignite their passion, birth their vision, and remember their inherent wisdom.

I have clients all over the world, and coach in both English and Spanish.

What’s your coaching ‘philosophy’?

Keren: "When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending." I love this quote by Brene Brown. It can feel scary and empowering in equal measure.

Carving out time to get off autopilot to reflect on our story so far and creating the headspace to get really clear on how we want the next chapter to be, can be transformative. We have much more power than we think in determining our next chapter, but first we need to believe it is possible for us. We often limit ourselves before even getting started because we don’t think that whatever it is, be that a pivot, promotion, new role, step into leadership, a sidestep, payrise, new venture, whatever…is possible for us. We worry we may fail, don’t know how, or we simply aren’t good enough. It may be available for others, but not us, so we write it off, for now.

To go after what we want, intentionally, we need to get radically honest with ourselves; own our story. Get clear on our values, what motivates us, what drains us, what stories we are dragging around with us about ourselves and our capabilities that are safe to let go of and replaced with more empowered ones, aligned with our desires.

Owning our story, getting really comfortable with ourselves; all that we are, all that we want and all that we bring; and taking action from this place, is where the magic starts to unfold.

Jeanine: I work with women ready to stop putting their happiness, wellbeing and success in the hands of others.

I help guide women back home to themselves… to land back in their hearts and bodies, to reconnect to their truth, innate wisdom, passion, confidence and worth.

And I also specialise on helping female entrepreneurs birth businesses and create careers that feel loving, nourishing, exciting and aligned to them. I guide them to embody their authenticity, and claim their power to create the success they yearn for.

What can participants expect in this Career Accelerator cohort?

Keren: Participants can expect to go on a journey of self discovery and self empowerment, to gain greater clarity over  what they want from their career, and discover what may be holding them back or keeping them feeling stuck from unlocking their true potential. The programme offers an opportunity to create intentional space and time to reflect on and focus on what career acceleration looks like for each individual, alongside other incredible women, also on their career acceleration journey.

The programme has been crafted to empower participants to engage with their role in their own careers, each the expert of their own journey and key holder of their career path and next steps. The programme materials are a skeleton structure to support each participant to lean in and apply the tools to their unique career, supporting them to become their own career coach, supported by group coaching sessions.

The structure of the programme contains six distinct chapters, each important pieces of the jigsaw in supporting career acceleration. The chapters include, Creating Your Career Vision, Mapping Your Career Path, Build Career Confidence, Cultivating Clear Communication, Learn to Present Your Value and Stepping into Leadership.

The chapters each contain a rich variety of materials, including voice notes, journal prompts, AllBright Academy courses and thought provoking exercises. To embed the learnings, and gain further insights, participants are invited to attend a weekly group coaching session, themed around that week’s chapter topic. This is an opportunity to go deeper in the topic and connect with other incredible women on their career acceleration journey. There is also the opportunity to stay in touch as a group and share insights or challenges via a private group within the AllBright platform.

What is learned on the programme can have lasting effects in years to come, and the tools learned on the course, applied long after the programme has finished.

Jeanine: It is my intention that through this experience you will feel supported and empowered to get in-tune with yourself, your deeper sense of purpose and own your unique abilities to bring them out into the world.

Together, we will identify and remove barriers that may be holding you back and prepare you to step into more of your potential, at work and beyond. I will lovingly remind you that it’s time for you to claim your power and take action to create the career you desire!
