With the overwhelming demand and success of our first two studios (with our class studio launching in 2016 and our gym-only studio launching in September 2022), we will be aiming to expand once again the backend of this year with ambitious growth set over the next few years.

About Lyanne (Tig):
Tig Hodson is an athlete, coach, and Co-Founder of StrongHer - The first Women’s only strength-training space in London. Over the last eight years, Tig has competed in bodybuilding, been a spin instructor, and rediscovered functional training through the Turf Games.   

Tig staunchly believes that it’s essential to be strong both mentally and physically. In addition, StrongHer seeks to improve an individual’s confidence, break down social barriers, and encourage diversity across all their programs. 

After meeting her badass female Co-Founder Sam, both women realised that they were fed up with the shallow nature of the performance world and wanted to pursue something more fulfilling. Tig began as a receptionist at LA fitness, which, unfortunately, harmed her mental health. She soon began testing out every extreme diet and fitness program without proper training or education about her body. 

 About Sam Prynn:
Sam is a strength & conditioning coach and Co-Founder of StrongHer - London’s first strictly women-only strength & conditioning space.  Similar to Tig, Sam has competed, but in powerlifting and has helped thousands of women over her career.  

After coming from a past of bad relationships with self-image and eating disorders, It’s incredibly important for Sam to help show women that they are good enough and that they are able to achieve anything they want - they just have to believe in themselves as much as she does. She is also incredibly passionate about the importance of mental health, as I think a lot of us are after the past couple of years, and how much strength training can help to improve it.  

Sam heads up the operations and financials of the business but of course, you’ll still sometimes find her living her best life coaching within the studio from time to time.

Often, getting stuck and negative thought patterns arise from a disconnect between the “I” part of our mind and the “Self” part, walk away confident in recognising patterns and beliefs that were previously holding you back.

Industry Lunch: Women in Marketing

Award-winning science journalist Angela Saini has gone in search of the true roots of gendered oppression, and has uncovered a complex history of how male domination became embedded in societies and spread across the globe from prehistory into the present.
Travelling to the world&rsquo;s earliest known human settlements, analysing the latest research findings in science and archaeology, and tracing cultural and political histories from the Americas to Asia, she's overturned simplistic universal theories which show that what patriarchy is and how far it goes back really depends on where you are.
Despite the push back against sexism and exploitation in our own time, even revolutionary efforts to bring about equality have often ended in failure and backlash.
