Women’s-rights advocate Brita Fernandez Schmidt is executive director of Women for Women International, the charity empowering thousands of female survivors of war through a year-long program.
In conversation with Anna Jones, Brita will describe how, as a medium-sized charity, WfWI has responded to the coronavirus crisis with organisation wide emotional and economic resilience and her experience of women all around the world acting as heroes in their own communities.
We will get her thoughts on the importance of support networks and how both WfWI and AllBright have built a community. She’ll also share her own insider tips on finding a career that makes you happy, how to listen to your gut, and how to never give up hope – something we all need at the moment
Brita Fernandez Schmidt is the Executive Director of Women for Women International – UK (@womenforwomenuk) and is the Vice President for Europe & External Relations. Brita is a dedicated advocate and promoter of women’s empowerment, women’s rights and equality. She has grown the organisation from when it first started in the UK to a medium-sized charity which is helping thousands of women in countries affected by conflict and raising millions through effective and innovative donor relationships and partnerships.
