Powerful women in popular culture are often depicted as ‘bitches,’ using everything at their disposal to get their way.
Multi-media artist Sarah Baker, using the themes in the new instalment of BARONESS magazine, challenges this idea and explores how we can use storytelling to create a more supportive scenario in which the central female characters work collaboratively.
Hosted by Beth Greenacre, the evening will investigate the representation of successful women in popular culture, how we judge one another based on these cultural constructions and the role of woman in creative industries today. We will hear about Sarah’s body of work, her inspiration for BARONESS and what it’s really like to work with guest editor Donatella Versace.
Join Sarah, Beth and BARONESS for a revolutionary discussion around BARONESS’ new photographic storybook that looks into the world of romantic novels. The book follows the lives of five outrageous characters as they navigate tumultuous affairs, tangled lies and treachery. ‘BARONESS by Sarah Baker’ stars a blockbuster cast including supermodel Helena Christensen and Meghan Roche.
