For an IWD special, we invite Angela Rippon CBE to the AllBright to discuss her impressive career and how she broke the media glass ceiling. Angela was the first female newsreader to gain acceptance on the BBC, becoming a regular presenter of the 9pm News in 1975.
Angela has picked up a lifetime achievement award for her ‘outstanding contribution to the industry’ in her work as a practising journalist over the last 50 years. She has embraced an impressive variety of programmes on both radio and television including Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear and the Antiques Roadshow.
This is part two in the series of intimate evenings hosted by renowned photographer, Anita Corbin, and women from the UK who were “first” in their field of achievement.
