During the worst crisis for the hospitality industry in living memory, some of London’s chefs and restaurateurs are persevering, innovating, and actually starting anew.
To celebrate the release of her brand new cookbook, Jikoni: Proudly Inauthentic Recipes from An Immigrant Kitchen, Ravinder Bhogal chef-owner of Marylebone restaurant Jikoni will be in conversation with AllBright’s Executive Chef, Sabrina Gidda, who at the same time will be cooking a vibrant, seasonal dish from Ravinder’s brand new. The two chefs will discuss the inspiration behind the book and also Ravinder’s brand new home delivery brand Comfort and Joy by Jikoni.
Born in Kenya, to Indian parents, Ravinder’s food is inspired by her mixed heritage and the UK’s diverse immigrant culture. Ravinder is an award-winning food writer, TV presenter, journalist, cook and restauranteur.
Her debut restaurant, Jikoni, was ranked 56th in the UK by the National Restaurant Awards 2017 just 7 months after opening, and she has released two cookbooks, “Cook in Boots” and “ Jikoni: Proudly Inauthentic Recipes from an Immigrant Kitchen,” which is out on July 9th this year. She has twice been named in the Evening Standard Progress 1000 as one of London’s leading influencers of progress and diversity in the capital. She regularly writes about food for publications like the FInancial Times Weekend Magazine and Vogue online. She has just launched a home delivery brand Comfort and Joy by Jikoni, a sister brand to Jikoni.
