MAGGIE COLLIER – CO-FOUNDER OF FLAMINGO

Can you tell us a little about the charities you work with?
I’m a trustee for two charities – Drive Forward, which helps young people who have spent time in the care system into employment, and Purposeful Productions, which is a movement building hub for adolescent girls in the global south.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about diversity in business – how employers can meet the challenge of creating inclusive environments for under-represented groups.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t give up your interests outside of work – that is what will help sustain you if the going gets tough. For me it’s my horses.

Do you have a motto or mantra that helps you at work?
You can’t run a business looking in the rear view mirror. Look forward, not back. If you make a mistake, learn from it but move on.

Have you got an book or podcast recommendations you could share?
Sheryl Sandberg’s book, published last year, Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy. An obvious choice but so much sense.
